Activities

REMINDER: At your collective request, we've now scheduled weekly recitation sessions in webinar mode for Tuesdays at 7:30 Link to next one here: https://my.dimdim.com/drdann/

Note: Boldface indicates scored assignment (part of final grade).

  1. Based on times gleaned from last session's survey, indicate which showcase session and timeslot you desire to present your course project (see showcase page). IF you cannot participate in any available/remaining timeslot, please inform your professor ASAP.
  2. In the box adjacent to your name on the showcase page, create a link to a new wiki page for your draft abstract called "DA-YourName" (replacing "YourName" with your first name or nickname). Then save showcase page, click on that link to create the page, paste your draft abstract on that page and save. Well done!
  3. Read session learning objectives and readings[1]
  4. Do one or more of these activities (indicating which you'd like scored using form to the right):
    1. Address a learning objective for this session with an original document/presentation, etc., posting your contribution to the 03 Session folder.
    2. Answer a homework question
    3. Forum opportunity: dueling age pyramids
  5. Be sure to include citations for any references used in #4!
  6. Submit annotated reference for at least 1 citation to zotero library (except in weeks 5 and 10)
  7. Hone your course project ideas down to 1 good one and post your draft abstract by next session.
  8. [OPTIONAL] Participate in weekly recitation webinar (see link on top right of this page).

Outputs and Outcomes

  1. Timeslots identified and draft abstracts linked from showcase page.
  2. Submission by each participant of 1 of these:[2]
    1. Standalone page or file contributions posted to session folder (e.g., addressing a given learning objective)[3]
    2. Responses to homework 03 questions
    3. Ecologically-informed contributions to session e-forum.                                                                     .
  3. Annotated reference posted to our shared library using Zotero 2.0 plug-in for Firefox.
  4. Refined ideas for individuals' course projects.

Next Steps

  1. Provide a peer input on their draft abstract; pick whose course projects you'll anonymously evaluate for showcase, using form on that page.
  2. Do next session readings and visit next session plan (04Plan) to complete associated activities, per syllabus.
